As Gary Neville and many others have said, this is a bigger problem than racism in football. We have a social issue that continues to show up as violent, abusive and destructive behaviour directed at minorities and 'others', that needs to be addressed.
Let's stamp out the negatives by focusing on the positives, actively supporting groups that can nurture a longer-term impact against the issue, and lobbying the government to do the same.
Let’s do more to support the youth charities and platforms that positively guide the minds of the next generation. Check the likes of Football Beyond Borders, who continue to set the bar for amazing work with under-serviced young people in the capital.
