Nothing Tech invests in grassroots nightlife

People want to party, but the party is dying. With venues and nights closing worldwide, Club Nothing is seeking to protect a small pocket of creative nightlife through an events programme and fund for music collectives.

Innovative technology brand Nothing has launched Club Nothing. The platform combines a global events programme – hosted in collaboration with leading cultural outlets including Dazed in New York and Sabukaru in Tokyo – with a $40,000 fund, to be divided among four music collectives that can apply to host their “biggest event yet”. Continuing the brand’s commitment to music innovation and creatively disruptive ideas, it follows the announcement earlier in 2026 that Charli XCX was joining as both ambassador and stakeholder.

The late-night industry has been in crisis since the pandemic; in the UK alone, it shrank by 28% between 2020 and 2025. Andy Burnham’s recent business rates announcement will go some way towards alleviating the pressures venues are experiencing, but it doesn’t address the wider barriers preventing more people from enjoying nightlife in their cities: transport, safety and other rising costs. Amid these pressures, young people are finding new ways to socialise, but there is still a loneliness crisis, one only exacerbated by shrinking nightlife scenes.

Emerging collectives and promoters, like those Club Nothing is seeking to support, are the ones fostering genuine community. Nightlife is about more than hedonism: it creates safe spaces for discovery, togetherness and self-expression. Yet finding ways to break through is increasingly challenging. This initiative is a strong example of a brand recognising the resources required by the communities it seeks to be part of. Rather than an extractive culture grab, it offers a genuine give-back.
